CVT Hardshell Rooftop Tent Install

Here in Bend Oregon, there are two roof top tent companies known nation wide: CVT (Cascade Vehicle Tents) and FSR (Free Spirit Recreation). Both companies have been kind to Adventure Truck LLC and allowed us to test some of their tents!

Recently CVT hooked us up with a hard shell Mt. Hood rooftop tent! They chose the tent and provided a professional install. For those wondering about how to install a rooftop tent, most companies and installers use a forklift, (as pictured above). Especially with tents that are bigger and heavier, as was this 60” hard shell. Smaller tents can be installed without a forklift, but they need to be lesser width (like 49”) and soft shell.

This CVT install comes with mixed reviews, as the tent looks and operates amazingly, and we can confirm that the 311 Adventure Rack will support a 60” hard shell tent. But this is a big tent, ideally for a larger truck or SUV. There are many tents out there designed for smaller and mid-sized vehicles. Most of our customers are buying 49” -50” tents (ideal for Elements), but up to 55” also looks and works good.
